Local first, optional sync
Momenest is a personal record app and does not require a Momenest account. Projects, time entries, goals, notes, travel, anniversaries, period records, media and settings are stored on your device by default. We do not operate a server to collect these records, integrate advertising or third-party behavioral analytics SDKs, or sell personal records or use them for advertising tracking.
iCloud and system services
iCloud sync is off by default. If you enable it, records and associated photos, videos and covers are stored in your private iCloud database through Apple CloudKit, using your iCloud storage. Sync depends on your network, account, available space and system scheduling. Turning sync off takes effect after restarting the app and does not automatically delete existing cloud copies. System device backups are controlled by your iOS and iCloud settings, independently of the app's sync switch. Apple handles data for its services under its privacy policy.
Maps and location
Map display, place searches, address lookup and route planning may connect to Apple Maps services and provide search text, map regions or route endpoints. With permission, Momenest obtains location in the foreground for map display; it does not continuously track or automatically save your device's current location. Travel places and coordinates you add manually are your records and may be included in backups and enabled iCloud sync.
Photos, notifications and authentication
Momenest reads photos, videos and files you select through system pickers. Original media may retain metadata such as capture time and location; check before exporting or sharing. Notifications require system permission and can be disabled or have their content hidden. Face ID or device passcode authentication is performed by the system. Momenest receives only the result and cannot read biometric data. In-app locks control access; they do not add encryption to exported files.
Widgets and Live Activities
When daily Todo lock screen display is enabled, a task summary is shared locally with the Momenest widget. Focus Live Activities display project and timer information. These details may appear on the lock screen. You can adjust display preferences in the app and system settings; widget refreshes are scheduled by the system.
Export, deletion and retention
You can export data in Backup & Restore and restore or permanently delete supported records in Trash. Expiry cleanup is scheduled by the system and may be delayed. Settings includes a data-clearing action. With iCloud enabled, deletions may sync to other devices. Exported backups, files shared with others, system backups and cloud copies retained after sync is disabled must be managed separately. Save and verify a backup before replacing data, uninstalling or changing devices.
Period records and privacy choices
Period records are for personal logging and estimates based on past data, not for diagnosis, treatment or contraception decisions. You can hide bottom navigation entries, disable predictions and reminders, or enable authentication for period content. Hiding a navigation entry does not disable the feature or delete records; when Timeline is hidden, it remains accessible from your profile.
Contact and policy updates
For help or privacy questions, use the contact details in Help & Support. You choose what to include in feedback; do not send full backups, private notes or period records. We use contact details and feedback you voluntarily provide only to reply and troubleshoot, and delete them when no longer needed unless retention is legally required. We will update this policy and its date when our practices change.
